Do it yourself

Hello, to the people out in the ether of the internet. It is New Year's Eve. It is that time of year we look at to demarcate our own life. I made a change in how I framed something at the end of this year. I had always fought the internet. I never had Facebook. I never had a Twitter. I worshipped the Comix movement, and the "Life in Hell" comic by Groening. I grew up reading the Sunday comics. The men in my family weren't too keen on sports, but we loved comics. I always thought print was legitimacy. Print was tangible. The internet was nothing. My brothers would insist I create an online presence. I refused. I tried to make zines, and print work. All it seemed to do way cost me money.

I finally reframed the thought of putting work out there on the web. I realize it is virtually free, more people can potentially see it, and I can put it out into the world almost immediately.

My message is this. Put it out there. Don't hesitate. Do it now. My comics are not perfect. They will become better the more I do it. More people will see it the more I do it, and more will come of it. Nothing comes from artwork collecting mold in the basement.

Whatever it is you want to do, but are afraid to; do it! Have you always wanted to try Brazilian Juijistu, but have been nervous to; do it! Have you always wanted to take a cooking class; do it! Have you always wanted to go to Spain; fucking do it!

This article may have been mediocre at best, but that's okay. I'm just doing it. Only five people may end up reading this. I've been embarrassed before in front of more than just five people. I only have about 50 fans who know, and like my work. Most of these people don't know I have a website. That will change.

I'm doing it myself; and it doesn't involve a box of Kleenex next to my bed! Do it yourself, people of the internet. Do it. Fucking do it!
