Actors need an audience. All sorts of performers need the spotlight. They shrivel away into nothingness without it. Recently, we've seen many celebrities vocally oppose Trump. There was also a combined celebrity public service announcement. Michael Moore is leading a revolution of sorts. He stops short at demanding a coup.
I wondered why these folks are so pissed off. Again, I didn't vote for trump. I don't see how he is Hitler. The false equivalency leaves me baffled (and slightly offended). You can't compare a man who is responsible for six million deaths, and a man who made a statement involving "grabbing pussy". How does one even grab pussy anyway? There's nothing to grab onto to.
De Niro talked about how he would like to punch Trump in the face. I think that threat of violence is uncalled for. Let's not make threats here. We're civilized right? Are we back in the late 1800's. Shall we duel then? Also, De Niro is spry, but he's 73 years old. I love De Niro. He's amazing. I've seen many of his films. I know a bit of his back story. I even used to work in a restaurant in SOHO that he frequented as a boy. The place probably had changed hands at least ten times since then.
Meryl Streep is another great actress. They both acted in Deer Hunter together. It was an amazing film. It even won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
So, it dawned on me. I think I understand a little of what this is really about. It's about lousy reporting, bias media, lying, and tweeting. That explains the left's outrage. It doesn't really explain the famous peoples' outrage. They are rich, known, and no President will be able to really impede on their lifestyles. They don't live like the blue collar worker. They are pissed off, because they are irrelevant at the moment. Trump has been dominating every front page paper, every internet forum, and every private discussion.
When was the last time we talked about De Niro or Streep in a significant way? What about Cher? Who has thought about Cher until these outspoken actors opened their mouths? De Niro, Streep, and Cher are all very talented. They've all achieved a lot. They will all be immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Right now though nobody cares that much. That's what bothers them. Deep down, they need the love. Trump is getting all the love. Hell, hate is powerful too. Nobody really is showing any of these Hollywood types any love or hate. Trump is sucking up the spotlight, and they can't handle it.
Let's all reach out to these Hollywood folks, and send them the love they need. If we send them enough love then maybe they'll shut the fuck up, and go back to memorizing lines and crying on command.
