Gold

I worked hard. I stayed focused. I earned a gold medal at Grappling Industries Boston 2017. It felt great. I had never earned a gold before. I don't take these things too seriously, but I earned it. My opponents were great guys. They were strong, technical, brutal, and I was in trouble. I needed to rely on my skills, mental focus, and determination. I have trained with many people over the years. It is a special bond to share Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The lessons we learn on the mat transcend. Life isn't easy. Grappling/fighting isn't easy. When we conquer our emotions on the mat we can apply these lessons to life. Obviously, in life there are no gold medals. I would even push to say that these medals aren't all that important. I do believe that the discipline it takes to win a gold or any medal can transcend into winning at life. I am grateful for the lessons I've learned on the mat, and what it has done to help me achieve victories in life. To all my battling brothers and sisters out there, keep fighting, and stay true.
