Cardio is the key to crushing it. I am not an avid runner. I run like a snail crawls. I jump rope, cycle, walk and roll. We all need a way to get the cardio in. Some people love running. Others love cycling. Most don't love any of it.

We need to find the way to work our bodies. There is more than one way to skin a cat. There are countless ways to get that breath going.

Don't despair if you don't like running. One of my favorite boxers is older. His name is Sergio Martinez. Most boxers have used running in order to build up the necessary stamina for a 12 round fight. Martinez doesn't run much any more. He now uses a combination of paddle boarding and cycling to achieve these results. I use a combination of jogging, sprinting, rope work, cycling and circuit training to build my breath.

I also just breathe. At the end of every beach workout I practice my Wim Hof Breathes. Look up the technique if you haven't seen it. It is also important to know how to breathe. It sounds funny, but many people haven't given breathing technique a second thought. We think we just breathe involuntarily. Yes, it's true that we do that. We can also consciously activate our breath.

Try this out: next time you are driving around practice a series of thirty deep breathes. Give it a shot. Notice how your body feels after. It's an easy little game to play to keep you present. It also gives you the experience to modulate your oxygen reserves.

Hey, if you're reading this article then that means you have at least one minute to crank out thirty breathes. Give it a try! Breathe easy, friends!
